The real Inca Trail is a walking route that leads through the mountains above the Urubamba river, following (at least partly) the course of an old Inca roadway leading to the city of Machu Picchu.

This is a different way to arrive to Machu Picchu CItadel, trekking less explored Inca trails and surrounded by amazing ladscapes, and exotic flora and fauna.

ITINERARY:

Day 01 : Cusco / Mollepata / Sorayapampa

Early departure from Cusco, after passing by the localities of Izcuchaca and Limatambo we will arrive at Mollepata at around 9.00 am. After breakfast we will arrive to Silca where we will have lunch. After a short rest we'll continue our walk towards SORAYPAMPA where we'll camp. Dinner and overnight..

Day 02 : Sorayapampa / Salkantay Umanata Step / Huayrac

Early breakfast and preparation to initiate the most difficult part of our trek. We will hike across Salkantay Pampas, passing by Mount Umantay and Mount Salkantay until reaching the highest point of the trip (Salkantay Umanata Step at 4500 masl). Here we will enjoy amazing views of the galciers. Lunch and a short rest. Hike continue to Huayac where we will camp. Dinner and overnight.

Day 03 : Huayrac / Lluskamayu

This will probably be the most amazing day during our trip, on our way to the ARRANNIYUC community walking along river Santa Teresa, we will observe a variety of orchids, birds and spectacular waterfalls until arriving at our campsite in LLUSKAMAYU at around 5 pm. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04 : Lluskamayu / Aguas Calientes

Early breakfast and departure. On our walk we will pass by coffee, fruit trees, bananas, avocado, pineapple, and other farming fields including coca leaf farms. Arrival at SAHUAYACO where we will start our descent towards Aguas Calientes. Camping in Puente Ruinas. Dinner and overnight.

Day 05 : Machu Picchu / Cusco

Early breakfast and bus transfer to the Machu Picchu Citadel, guided visit for about two and a half hours, visiting the Intihuatana, The Temple of Three Windows, The Royal Quarters, The Circular Tower and many other interesting sites. Afternoon train transfer to Cusco and to your hotel for overnight. End of services.
